Managing and Helping

While I am the marketing lead I am also a team member of Sinister Studios, I am even the leader which means much of the responsibility falls to me to ensure the work is completed and if any work is too much or will take someone too long then it is down to me to help that team member.

I have made previous posts regarding my modelling which we all agreed to help one another out with, and also my sound effects which I done in order to help alleviate the sound and effects project leader.

finally I was also in charge of team meetings and managing everyone's progress, which I did using an excel spreadsheet with dates on showing the attendance for each member.

One area which I was asked to help was creating the game itself, I was occasionally asked about scripting which I would help R.P with finding relevant scripts and providing advice on how scripts should work, I did not provide any working scripts however I did provide the relevant information to find the necessary scripts to achieve what it was we were looking for.

When R.P was creating the game we did not have a front page and I suggested a screenshot of the hospital outside the window. Once that was taken I made a homepage in Photoshop and gave it to R.P to implement it and use scripts to make it work.

Another asset I provided was 5 different trees, the reason for this is because I have the most experience using Speedtree and I was able to create trees very quickly and easily. The only part of this which was difficult was ensuring the trees all had a creepy feeling to them. In order to find this feeling I looked to other creepy tree designs and noticed that they all had no leaves (like dead trees) and their branches were all distorted as though they were reaching out to grab something but the branches were too deformed to easily grab something.

Thankfully that is just a set number of options to change and then I can use the randomise button to create multiple trees with the same parameters.

I believe that one of our teams greatest strengths was the ability to easily and quickly communicate with one another through the use of Facebook's chat messenger. This meant that we could send each other work and ask for advice and feedback while also offering suggestions on how to move forward with the project from then on.

Two separate examples of conversations which we had, one is showing off work and how it is currently going while the other is showing the process in which we spoke about possible changes and how it could affect the creation of the level.
